Gender Affirming Care

Providing access to healthcare for vulnerable populations is a core value of our federally qualified health center. To that end, our clinic provides gender affirming care. This evidence-based care is endorsed by the AMA, AAFP, AAP, the American College of Psychiatrists, and many other national and international health organizations. In the third year of training, residents observe and/or participate directly in the provision of gender affirming care.    This care may span from offering a safe and affirming space for individuals who identify as gender diverse to receive preventative and acute care to prescribing gender affirming medications and working with local and interstate surgical teams to assist individuals in obtaining gender affirming surgeries.
