Clinic Resources at University of Wyoming Family Practice – Casper

The University of Wyoming Family Practice – Casper is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to delivering accessible, high-quality, and patient-centered care to our community. As a comprehensive training site for our Family Medicine Residency Program, the clinic offers a wide array of services designed to support holistic care and hands-on learning for residents.

Clinical Services

Our clinic provides full-spectrum family medicine, supported by experienced faculty and interdisciplinary teams. Services include:

  • Family Medicine
    Primary care for patients of all ages, with residents managing their own patient panels to promote continuity and comprehensive care.
  • Geriatrics
    Specialized care for older adults, including geriatric assessments and age-related health management.
  • Pediatrics
    Preventive and acute care for infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Obstetrics & Women’s Health
    Prenatal care, inpatient obstetrical services, FM-OB surgical obstetrics, family planning, contraceptive management, and preventive screenings. Residents follow assigned prenatal patients through pregnancy and delivery.
  • Geriatric Assessment Clinic
    In-depth evaluations to address complex health needs and improve quality of life for older adults.
  • Nursing Home Care
    Residents care for panels of patients across three local nursing homes under the supervision of attending physicians and during geriatric rotations.
  • Inpatient Services
    A robust adult medicine inpatient service with continuous coverage, a patient cap of 18, and admission of all established clinic patients.
  • Behavioral Health & Psychiatry
    Integrated mental health services including counseling by two licensed behavioral health providers and telepsychiatry support.
  • Case Management
    Coordinated care to help patients navigate healthcare systems and access community resources.
  • Controlled Substances Initiative (CSI)
    A structured program to support patients using controlled substances, with a provider committee overseeing treatment efficacy and safety.
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MOUD)
    Evidence-based treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorders using medication-assisted strategies to support recovery.
  • Sliding Scale Pharmacy
    Affordable prescription services based on income, improving access to necessary medications.
  • Clinical Procedures
    On-site procedures include intraarticular injections, skin biopsies, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, IUD placement, and NEXPLANON insertion/removal.
  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM)
    Dedicated clinic for resident training in OMM techniques, with services available to Medicaid patients.
