University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency – Casper
The University of Wyoming–Casper Family Medicine Residency Program offers a robust and comprehensive educational experience designed to prepare residents for full-scope family medicine practice. Our curriculum emphasizes clinical excellence, interprofessional collaboration, leadership development, and community engagement.
Core Educational Features
- Clinical Training
Residents gain extensive hands-on experience in outpatient primary care, inpatient medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and procedural skills. - Didactic Curriculum
Weekly educational sessions include faculty-led lectures, resident presentations, skills labs, journal clubs, and case conferences. - Simulation Training
Residents participate in simulation-based learning to develop procedural competency and emergency response skills in a controlled environment. - Community Engagement
Opportunities to collaborate with local and regional healthcare providers, including three nursing homes, Health Care for the Homeless, Banner Wyoming Medical Center, and the WWAMI network for away rotations. - Research & Quality Improvement
Residents engage in scholarly activities such as GEMS projects, quality improvement initiatives, and presentations at regional and national conferences. - Leadership & Practice Management
Workshops and mentorship programs support the development of leadership, teaching, and practice management skills. - Interprofessional Collaboration
Residents work closely with nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver team-based care.
