Welcome to the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program – Casper! We’re excited you’re considering joining our team of compassionate, full-spectrum family physicians. 

Application Process 

We accept applications only through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) 
Deadline: December 1 

Required Documents 

To be considered for an interview, please submit: 

  • Personal Statement 
  • Three Letters of Recommendation 
  • Medical School Transcript 
  • USMLE or COMLEX Scores 
  • MSPE 

Eligibility Requirements 

  • Graduation from medical school within the past one year 
  • ECFMG certification by July 1 (for international graduates) 
  • At least 1 year of U.S. Clinical experience during medical school (Note: Observerships/externships do not qualify) 
  • We only sponsor Canadian ECFMG-sponsored J-1 Visas. (Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-base basis.)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) 

Q: Do you accept international medical graduates (IMGs)? 
A: Yes, we welcome IMGs who meet our eligibility criteria including ECFMG certification and U.S. clinical experience during medical school. 

Q: Can I apply if I graduated more than one year ago? 
A: Generally, we require graduation within the past one year, but exceptions may be considered. 

Q: What kind of clinical experience qualifies? 
A: We require at least one year of hands-on U.S. clinical experience during medical school. 
Observerships and externships do not meet this requirement. 

Q: Do you sponsor Visas? 
A: We only sponsor Canadian ECFMG-sponsored J-1 Visas. 

Q: When will I hear back about interviews? 
A: Interview invitations typically begin in mid-October.
